Liverpool optimists society returns

5 reasons to be optimistic

1. We have some good senior players who have age still on their side.

People seem to forget the age of johnson (28) agger (27), skertl (27), coates (22), enrique (26), henderson 22, lucas (24) Borini (21) Carroll (23) Suarez (25), Shelvey (20)

This is something to build on surely.

2. We have a long list of kids with potential that the club have invested in heavily in the past 5 years, some of which are very close to the team.

Wisdom, coady, flanagan, robinson, N'goo, morgan, ibe, suso, sterling.... Just to name a few. yes we let some go as well like silva and ince but that's the level of competition there is.

3. Gerrard is actually half fit and still our leader. While we've not seen his best for probably 4 years he's now the elder statesman and is there as an example to everyone. There is a case that just maybe he can have a swansong couple of years where he is less injured

4. just how many clubs win things each year? We WON something last year we are in europe, we have 4 competitions to play in and work hard for success in.

5. We no debts to worry about any more. Whether you like it or not we are not Chelsea and will not spend far more than our revenues and hiding the losses. We are not rangers playing on the fiddle and ending up liquidated. We are now, after the worst period of our history, nominally self sufficient and have serviceable debts that are not an issue for our growing revenues.

The club has a future and we should always be thankful for that.#

these are just 5 obvious reason to be optimistic brought to you by the Liverpool optimists society. (if you ever remember said group on old 606)

go away, we're being asset stripped and all our players wouldn't get into the tranmere reserves. We also smell of wee. Day old, dark wee too, not the fresh kind.

Just look at Rangers and be thankful.

I think we're already a lot stronger than last season considering who's back fit or match fit and returned from loan.

I remember the LOS

We need a good dose of positivity - well a small one would do actually. So well done for finding some reasons to be optimistic.

There's a saying that the smart take from the strong, so even if on paper we don't look to have the best squad, play smart and we can be in with a shout.

Anfield of Dreams (Mancs go back to your own board)

not optimistic at all for THIS season

---------------------------------

Depends what you want/expect. I'm optimistic that we will see good football, get some good wins and (this is the really important part) I'll enjoy watching my team.

The last part is really all I'm after. Winning trophies is an awesome feeling but it's not the reason I watch Liverpool.

I am very optimistic. I expect, hope, to see our beloved club do better than last year in every aspect, take your own pick.JimmyTheRed
