Just seen this in The Mirror (yes I know, but it's a bit of light reading in the morning)

Yeah you always get the impression that Noel is the brains, and let little Liam tag along.
Noel's actually a class lyricist, and has a decent voice IMO.

Oasis would have been nothing without Liam, theyd have failed to exist

I would hardly call Noel brainy but he is certainly the brains of the two

Really? The only thing I think Liam ever contributed was a whiny, raspy singing voice. Noel has the better voice of the two, and wrote most of, of not all, the songs.
That said I read somewhere the other day that Noel was originally meant to sing Wonderwall. He said he was relieved Lism ended up singing it. As he doesn't think it would've done so well with him singing.

I think Noel has a horrible whiney voice but it suits well as backing vocals to Liam who has a strong lead presence. Liam's voice got worse after What's the Story though

red_man23.... without Liams vocals they would never have made it. Its his distinctive voice and stage presence coupled with Noels writing talent, that made Oasis what they were. Noels voice although good is quite bland...and nothing unique

"Coleen Rooney sent Noel Gallagher her husband's £2,000 Gibson electric guitar to sign for Wayne's 22nd birthday - but Liam's estranged brother returned it sprayed City blue, with the lyrics to club anthem Blue Moon written on it, together with the words 'Happy Birthday Spongebob'"
That is hilarious!

Fair enough, we'll have to agree to disagree. Got to say I though Oasis were class in their day. Did some cracking songs that defined my late teens .
