I hope it doesn't surface, and his exclusion tonight may well just be the fact there is no point risking him for such a tie, but I personally would take Adam Johnson but would be looking for closer to £14-15 million.

I would be gutted to see Agger leave but could understand it.

He is one of the best defenders in Europe, and is at his peak at 27.

With him being out of contract in 2 years, it is now or never for him. He either signs a new deal and risks not playing in the CL for the remainder of his career, or he leaves now for the mega bucks deal and CL football.

while there is no doubting Agger's talents as a very good centre half,, I feel his transfer value will be always be effected by his injury record, (while no were near as bad as woodgates). If he were to move to another club they would have to continually change CH pairings
