---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Game 1: Bayer Leverkusen vs. Lyon |
Bayer Leverkusen |
---------------------------Leno-------------------------------
Castro----------Reinartz-----Naldo------------Kadlec
---------------Gargano--------Rolfes--------------------
-----Gaitán---------------Oscar-----------------Sam
------------------------Damião------------------------------
Subs: Gordon, Oczipka, Oliveira, Pusch, Kießling, Augusto, Toprak
Gargano and Rolfes to provide stability in front of the back 4 whilst Oscar will be the main creative force with Gaitan and Sam providing pace down the wings and will occasionally cut in. Full backs will also look to push forward and cross in to use Damiao's height in the middle.
If game remains close towards the end will look to bring on Oliveira in place of Rolfes and switch to a more attacking 4-4-2. Oliveira may add something different to the attack. Augusto may also come on for Gargano late on to sacrifice the defensive stability but will provide cutting edge up top.
Lyon |
-----------------------Lloris----------------------
Debuchy----Nkoulou----Subotic----Muniesa
----------Marchisio---------JaviGarcia--------
M.Isla----------------Kroos---------------Joselu
----------------------R.Falcao--------------------
Vecoutre, Varane, Gonalons, Maher, Leitner, Jelavic, Niang
Solid back 4 who will defend as a line with Subotic man marking the striker, stay foucussed and stay tight on men, clear all danger. Fullback attack one at a time when in no danger. Garcia man marks, his job is simple, stop them from dictating play. Marchisio box to box help defend when needed, short passes forward and follow ball. Kroos free role dictate play and get Falcao in on goal. Wingers drive at fullbacks and get the ball into the box as much as they can, defend the lines when they have. Falcao, look to get into space and always be a threat Stay on toes and away from marker

Game 2: Newcastle vs. Schalke (0-1 advantage. Predict as though game starts at 0-0) |
Newcastle |
------------------------------Krul---------------------------
Richards-------Jagielka------------Dawson-------Baines
------------------Arteta--------------Tiote----------------
Chamberlain-------------------Montolivo---------------D. Silva
----------------------------P. Cisse--------------------------
Schalke |
----------------Fährmann
Maicon, Höwedes, Papadopoulos, Fuchs
----------------Touré-------Holtby----------
Farfan-----------------------------Draxler--
------------------Palacio---------------------
----------------------Huntelaar--------------
Substitutes
Unnerstall, Höger, Metzelder, Jurado, Jones, Moritz, Pukki
Toure defends. Holtby has more freedom, will go forward to pick passes. Farfan takes it down the line and puts crosses in for Huntelaar who takes advantage of any chances. Draxler likes to cut inside to thread passes through. Palacio plays off Huntelaar as the second striker, likes to drive at the CBs and cause danger with good dribbling skills and power. If needed fullbacks can get forward and put in dangerous crosses while midfielders sit deep.
From the bench Pukki provides pace and movement up front. Jones adds steel to midfield and breaks up opponents attacks/legs if winning. Jurado unpredictable but very skilful and good vision.

Game 3: Malaga v Roma |
Malaga |
----------------------------Adler----------------------
-----Danilo---------Albiol---Barzagli---------B.A.E
-----------------Motta-----------------Bender--------------
------------Sahin--------Ozil------------Reus
----------------------------De Jong------------------
Subs:
Butland
Lucio
Alex Sandro
Clarence Seedorf
Hargreaves
Ballack
Game-Plan: Attack Roma's slow Back line with our Pacy forwards, and look at Ozil to create that extra spark in the middle of the pitch. Bender and Motta will be our DM, and they should slot in nicely alongside each other, and both should stay very disciplined. We have two very good, Hard-working FB in BAE and Danilo and they should look to snuffle out any attack caused by Lamela and Willian. In the centre, Barzagli will partner Albiol, and both are World Class CB that should be able to deal with anything Gomez and his Colleges throw at them.
Roma |
---------------------------------Stekelenberg---------------------------
------Walker--------Alerweireld------Hummels--------Angel-----
-----------------------Neustadter-----------Vidal------------------------
-----Zarate---------------------Eriksen----------------Willian------
------------------------------------Gomez--------------------------------
Subs: Lobont, Kjaer, Bosingwa, Spearing, Borini.
Look to play the ball wide as Malaga's FB's are their weakest link. The wingers need to create chances for Gomez and sometimes Eriksen if they can. They defence is pretty weak as well so we will look to attack them down Albiol's side. Hummels and Alderweireld should be able to deal with De Jong. The 2 midfielders will be making strong tackles not allowing any midfield runners to burst past us. Walker and Angel are World Class FB's who can stop any meaningful attack down their side. Stay solid and tight at the back and create chances from midfield.

Game 4: Valencia v Benfica |
Valencia: |
------------------------Buffon-----------------------
--Maggio-------Rami------Coloccini------Alba----
--------------------Schweinsteiger----------------
--------------Moutinho-------Thiago--------------
--Marin-------------------------------------Alaba--
-----------------------Soldado----------------------
Subs: Pinto, Kelly, Mellberg, Hitzelsperger, Albelda, Totti, Luis Fabiano
Key to this game will be the midfield, in Schweinsteiger and Moutinho we have to unstopping engines who will harass the opponents into mistakes. Thiago is more than capable of keeping play ticking, a younger Xavi. Benfica’s main weaknesses are the wings, with Podolski out they have limited options and this should allow our fullbacks to get up and support Alaba and Marin. CB’s keep united to counter RVP, Schweinsteiger will hurry Kagawa so he can’t play his normal style. Soldado to feed off the wingers and Thiago’s through balls, hanging off Terry as he’s the slower opposition CB.
Benfica |
Valencia vs. BENFICA
--------------------------------McGregor------------------------------
Van Der Wiel-------Koscielny---------Terry---------------Kolarov
--------------------------Xavi----------M'Vila--------------------------
Robben------------------------Kagawa-----------------------Ben Arfa
-----------------------------------RVP----------------------------------
Subs: Eduardo, Vertonhen, Lopes, Garay, Cabaye, Vaz Te
Tactics:
Look to control the midfield and the game. Xavi is the key to this and he will play as he does for Barcelona. M'Vila will not go forward but will simply protect the defence. Kagawa to play behind RVP and find the pockets of space a la Iniesta. Wingers to supply RVP and look to beat their men. Defence will stay tight and fullbacks only go forward when necessary. RVP to feed off the excellent supply and score. Our play style is similar to Barca in that we will look to be in control. Take the game to Valencia.
