It's not true but...

vdw is definitely better overall than jenkinson but still terrible defensively.

Van der wiel has never impressed me, we have jenkinson who is fantastic at going of forward, he just needs to improve defensively which will come with experience, he is still a young lad.

I wouldn't say Jenkinson is 'fantastic' going forward, he's decent.

Jenkinson at Stoke worries me.

He is the best crosser in the squad, good link-up play, would say he is better than sagna going forward.

Jenkinson at Stoke is fine, we need his height from set-pieces and stoke don't play the type of football which will expose Jenkinson. Jenkinson at Liverpool worries me

don't go too far, Jenkinson is good but he makes silly errors. Sagna always makes the right decisions going forward. He doesn't wow you but he does a great job making the percentage moves

Jenkinson is poor atm. He really needs to improve.

The point is Sagna might be getting on a bit.
At this stage of his career, there is a possibility of injuries re-occurring more frequently (not that I wished that, but still a possibility).
Jenkinson is nowhere near being ready to replace Sagna/back him up in PL games.
WIth this in mind, the move for vdW would make sense but I don't believe it anyway, the usual tabloid stuff - making up a transfer that might happen to claim the glory by putting "as revealed exclusively by" - with the deal not materialising in the end. I am not even sure whether we are interested.
