Odds for promotion this season

Last year we were 9/2 and joint 6th favourites to be promoted. Year before that we were 20/1. This year we appear to be second favourites.

Bookies got 5 of the top 6 right last year and 2 of the promoted teams right. Not so sure they will be so close again this year. I think it could be much more open than everyone seems to assume.

Sheffield United 7/4
Milton Keynes Dons 5/2
Swindon Town 3/1
Coventry City 4 /1
Preston North End 4 /1
AFC Bournemouth 9/2
Doncaster Rovers 9/2
Notts County 9/2
Brentford 11/2

Thats true, I guess I should hold judgement until a couple of months into the season. It's just I don't feel as confident as I did before the start of last season.

When we signed Charlie MacDonald he had pretty much started the season on the bench at Brentford, I was not pleased with the signing at all as it showed little promise and hardley any ambition signing a player to lead our line who wasn't even in the first team of a squad that finished below us. But regardless how many goals he has or hasn't scored imo he's been a terrific signing and his work rate helps the team a great deal. You could sign anyone out there who's not good enough for one team, but could be a great signing for another as long as you have the strengths to improve them.

Jon never played at Wednesday a fair deal last season as he was struggling with injury problems. And you have to remember Ryan Lowe was only there for a season which is effectively a short time to be at one club. He couldn't get into the team as Nile Ranger and Michael Antonio (Who impressed) was brought in for half of that. Prior to these arrivals he played a fair bit of football, and when he signed for Wednesday he was a much sought after player who was attracting attention from other clubs in the Championship as well as League One.

Lowe's 26 games for Wednesday 15 were as sub so he's goal ratio is a lot better than it looks and Deon Burton's gone to Gillingham (A shame he didn't go for Burton).

Otsemobor is coming back from injury so he is a risk, but if we no better than last season we still finished 5th and can do better this season.

Should have been "if we are no better".

All the comments from the Wendie fans regarding Lowe was very positive. Lets see on Otsemobor once he actually plays. No idea why you are less positive compared to last season. We have kept the squad intact, added 2 signings, and will probably be adding at least one more and maybe a couple of loanees. Who knows maybe Beevers will be back on loan and we are about to sign a s hot winger.

I still think this will be the best chance we have of going up

Have you signed Anthony Kay from us ?

No news about that here - good luck to the terrierers in the coming campaign - hopefully your (well deserved) absence this season in L1 will give us more of a chance to go up
