So we played Lincoln after all, behind closed doors at our place. A 5-0 win with goals for Dyer(2), Nugent, Vardy and King. Glad they got that sorted.
Dyer staking his claim for a starting place?
Surprise

If Knockaert isn't deemed match fit then I would expect Dyer and Marshall to play on the wings for the first game.
Also, is it just me or do Vardy and Nugent seem to be getting a heck of a lot of game time together? Will they be the first choice partnership?

It would seem that Vardy and Nugent will be first choice. Rumours have been around all summer that Beckford will be leaving. He splits opinion, I personally think he could do a job and it'd be a shame for him to leave, but he's on massive wages and I think that its restricting us somewhat. It reminds me of the DJ situation a couple of years back, when Sousa was in charge, so we'll probably see Beckford leave towards the end of the transfer window.
At least that's my part in the conspiracy theory, it may just be that he's still not fully fit after illness (seems that a few of our squad have been ill just lately) and we'll see more of him from now on

This is the strike pairing I expected to see when we signed Vardy tbh. I think its pretty much inevitable that Beckford will leave and I think these are the two who will make the greatest impact (and it seems to be working so far). I think Futacs will be used as the central figure if we ever go down the 4-3-3 route and Waghorn and Schlupp being used as back up for injuries / suspensions or alternative options.

How strange that a player so highly rated and worshipped as some sort of messiah by our Northern friends, seems to be of no interest whatsoever to any other clubs.....including ourselves by the looks.
Maybe Nigel is thinking like myself that if Leeds are prepared to make an offer, bite their hands off....
