So we might be going into next season with evra as our only 1st team recognised left fullback....
I'm not to hot on our reserve / youth team.. what options do we have there ?! Or Evans being pulled across to give him game time ? Baines ? Whose on the tour at the minute as back up ?
Thoughts ?!

^ It can be used an excuse, I just used it.

How do you think Vidic's absence has impacted on Evra's willingness to put in the required effort?

Evra has been poor since the World Cup debacle in S Africa.
The passing of his brother and the Suarez thing can't have helped last season but he was already in poor form.
He is now in his 30's. He isn't going to be around that much longer anyway. We need a reliable replacement.
Watch the Basle games, the 1-6, the 3-3 at Chelsea, the 4-4 vs Everton and others too from last season...........Evra's defending could be used as a guide on how not to defend.
Don't know what's happened to him. He was world class 3 years ago.

The truth is, he's never injured and for the past 4-5 seasons he's played 45-50 games. Naturally he's unable to play consistently each game with such energy that he first displayed simply because of his age.
I use to think it was just a way of picking out Evra when our fans use to say 'We only concede from the left', and when I started to pay attention it was a genuine fact. Of course to make myself feel better I'd always say, 'We concede from the left and score from the right'.
I'm not picking on Evra at all, he's been phenomenal during his time at Manchester United, however to go into next season with only just him would be ludicrous. I trust Sir Alexs judgement, even I don't think he'd send Fabio on loan without a game plan. Either Evans will now start playing left-back, [I hope not as he should be our first-choice Centre back] or Evra will be told not to go forward anymore. I doubt there is anyone in the youth system that is ready.

Fabio is neither here nor there. He gets injured almost every time he plays.
A guy who sits behind me has a joke bet what minute Fabio will go off injured with me when he starts and annoyingly he usually wins.
Can't see Fabio being our long term left back.

Score from the right and concede from the left ! Nice way of putting it and I agree with you too.. Valencia and nani are mainly played on the right but hopefully young will become better this season.
Evra didn't have a good campaign for France either and I think clichy might have claimed the starting spot now too.
So Brady could get some game time... Hmmm.. And other young un's we have coming through or should the legend that is giggs try filling in there ?!

We missed the boat on signing nathaniel clyne.
He can play either side as fb.
But, i`d like to see Sir Alex blood Blackett instead of going out and spending.

Shame Fryers didn't have the ambition to try and fight for the place.
I can understand someone like Pique seeing Rio/Vidic in their prime and realising that it's gonna be hard to get games.... But surely the guy knew that Evra was out of form and getting older... and Fabio was out on loan.
Strange decision.

I just don't accept this. He always seems to have the energy to get up the field when we are attacking, but then just trots back. If we break up the play before Evra gets back into position, he suddenly sets off back up the pitch. I don't think it is to do with energy, but more to do with hunger.

Evra got one assist last season in the league apparently and 3 in all competitions.
Maybe he should just stay back permanently.

He has had his injuries but he is young and SAF seems to have a lot of faith in him, some of the injuries might be down to him not getting enough game time to buld upp his endurance. The Loan move will undoubtedly show what kind of LB he might become, this is his chance to make his name because at QPR he might be able to improve both deffensively and offensively
