Rules - European League

General

This league is run by Number 21 and GMW. It will consist of 16 teams, separated into 2 divisions of 8. Add £4m for winning a match and £2m for a draw. Other winnings are listed below.

Transfers

Domestic Transfers

Domestic transfers can take place at any time between teams in both divisions. Teams in Division 1 can trade with teams in Division 2. ALL domestic transfers must be confirmed on the Transfer Confirmation Page. There is, however, no limit as to the number of domestic transfers that can take place in a day.

Foreign Transfers

The Foreign Market is run by me and Number 21. The Foreign Transfer Window is now always open and there is no limit on the transfers per day for foreign transfers. Once again, all foreign transfers must be confirmed within 24 hours of the player being permitted to join the league. If not, the player is released back on to the market for others to buy.

Free Transfers

A player is classified as “free" if he is currently unemployed or was unemployed on 30th June 2012. This means that players like Drogba are free. Payment is not required when purchasing a free agent but they must also be confirmed.

Foreign Offers

Every 3 weeks, Number 21 will give each team 5 cash offers for the players in your team. 3 of these players will be selected randomly and 2 of these players will be selected from the "For Sale" page. The "For Sale" page is where you post players you want Number 21 to post an offer for.

Releases

Players can be released for half their value on the releases page. However, foreign players can be released for 3/4 of their value. Once a player has been released, they can be purchased for their release fee. These do not have to be confirmed.

Loans

Domestic loans are allowed but they must be a minimum of 4 weeks. Loans from foreigns are not permitted. Emergency loans are allowed (ie for one week) but these must have a valid reason (ie injuries to all 4 gk's).

Match Day

Tactics

Each team must provide a starting X1 and subs which should be posted on the “Teams and Tactics" page by 7pm Friday. It is up to the manager to update this team based on injuries and suspensions (mentioned below). A manager is allowed to write up to 100 words in tactics so as to show a basic gameplan. However, this is not necessary but is optional. If a team fails to hand in tactics without a valid reason, then I will submit a team on their behalf so the game is not made redundant. However, their opposing team will be given a one goal advantage. (This did not apply to Ajax for GW 1 because these are updated rules. The previous rules suggested an auto 3-0 loss but this is unfair to the other teams in the league.)

Predictions

In order to calculate results, each manager must predict the result of other games. Prediction will work in this way: - A manager in Division 1 must predict all 4 games in Division 2 (and vice-versa). This will result in 8 predictions for each game. Predictions will last from Saturday - Tuesday morning. Add £1m to your budget for predicting.

Results

Results will then be calculated in this way – For each game, all the scorelines from all the predictions will be tallied up and then averaged out. Average scorelines below 0.5 will be rounded down and 0.5 and above will be rounded up. Also, if a team is predicted to have 5 wins, then they will be awarded with an extra goal. Results will be published on Tuesday afternoon.

Cup Competitions

2 cup competitions will run over the season. In the cups, injuries and suspensions do not apply.

Injuries

Each team will have 4 injuries randomly drawn out for them where any player can be injured from 1-4 weeks. This puts more emphasis on building a squad rather than just a starting X1. However, if an injured player is transferred to another club, he effectively “loses" his injury, making him available for selection.

Suspensions

Each gameweek, a will randomly be drawn for one player in one team in Division 1 and Division 2. Also, 3 will randomly be drawn for 3 players in each team. A means that player cannot play in the next gameweek and 3 for a certain player also results in a one-game suspension.
