Just seen that Hoganson has signed a one-year deal, although Nigel sees him playing primarily within the new under-21 side.
If that's the case, what's the point? Is it quite a shrewd move? If he performs well it gives us chance to sign him for longer, but if he's poor we're not tied to him for too long!
Still need a couple of additional signings in my opinion - preferably two forwards!

TBR,
Looks like a suck it & see with him, could be a shrewd move as you say
I don't think any strikers will be signed unless someone reaches Derby's valuation or Davies.

Young, cheap player, with the potential to improve, for the U-21 team, what's the problem?

He's been in our (Newcastle) U18 team for past 2 seasons with sparing appearances for reserves. Can't see him being a first teamer

I know you didn't jorv
I don't see how/why anyone is questioning giving a one-year contract to a young kid who obviously impressed in a trial... who cares, it makes no difference... the worst that can happen is he doesn't cut it and leaves after a year!

Cosmo, I am with you, if he does well a shrew move, if not then both him and us, can say he gave it a shot.
