Our fans are so naive

Cant understand the thinking capacity of some of our fans

RVP is our BEST PLAYER...and we will surely regret selling him to Utd.

Yes what he did was wrong & disrespectful but we have been trophyless for so long that we should try to overlook that fact & exploit him one more season. He practically qualified for next CL on his own & for that i think its utter stupidity how some fans feel we can cope without him.

News flash, guys, we can not have a good season without him. Giroud is unproven in Europe & an EPL novice. Podolski has played well for a low ranked team in an average league. Plus he was an outright flop during his time in a big team.

Imo it is sheer naivety that makes our fans feel Giroud & Podolski are ready or good enough to take this league by storm.

We shall regret selling RVP.

Even if it were true, what do you expect us to do? Assume the foetal position and start whimpering? I'll be sickened if Van Persie joins United, but still be excited to see the new guys in action for us.

We will be fine without RVP, don't care what team we sell him to either doesn't really matter.

If we lose him we've effectively replaced Cesc, Nasri and RVP with Cazorla, Podolski and Giroud which is hardly an improvement. I'm curious to know why everyone's so confident for the upcoming season when our team in 10/11 had a better first 11 couldn't win anything and pretty much every top team has improved since?

I never said they were Chicken. They were God awful. Really really terrible. However, that doesn't make him a bad player, and has no impact on how well he should perform here. If anything it shows how well he's done with the limited support he's had.

To the following comment:

"Podolski has played well for a low ranked team in an average league".

You said:

"Even knowing that your a twit as it is, this still baffled me as too how you could believe that".

Where you're basically calling the Op "a twit" for suggesting his previous team were low ranked.

Now you're agreeing that they were "God awful", which is rather contradicting. Maybe you owe the Op an apology for the twit comment, now you're actually agreeing with the point they made.

I'm confident because despite predictions from doom-mongerers like yourself last season we beat the odds and finished 3rd in the end which looked completely impossible after 7 games.

I'm confident beause we've also improved in other key areas of the pitch in the meantime. We now have an established goalkeeper which we didn't have for some time. We have one outstanding back in Kosicelny and an exemplerary leader beside him in Vermaelen. We have better cover throughout the squad now in most positions and we've also got a range of talented youngsters breaking into the squad.

But what makes me really excited about next season is that the way we overcame our problems last season would have cultivated actual mental strength in the squad. In comparison with 10/11 our players have more resolve, steel and fight in them. The new arrivals also bear the traits of fighters rather than flaky stars.

And as for the comment about every team improving since then, I don't really know what you're talking about. Perhaps you're overlooking the general decline in quality at the top of the league last year, or perhaps you'll say anything to back up your perpetually miserable take on all things Arsenal.

Chicken, I was annoyed at him saying

"Podolski has played well for a low ranked team in an average league."

For a few reasons.

1) It had negative connotations about the player because of him playing for a bad club, which is in it's self, stupid.
2) He called the Bundesliga an average league. This is probably what annoyed me most. The lack of knowledge to suggest that this is anything but a very strong league is ridiculous. It's got it's crap teams, like all leagues, but to call it average is stupid.
3) Moving on from my last point, his post suggests that because the Bundesliga is an "average" league, Podolski could have a difficult time settling in. Now I have no qualms with the idea of him having trouble adapting, it's a very real and likely situation. But it was the assertion that it was because it was an average league that he would suffer, which couldn't be further from the truth.

Hope that clears it up for you

Bring Back Denilson

While I can't argue that we have a better keeper and Koscielny has improved since his first year I can't agree with the stuff about mental strength, when it came to the business end of the season we flopped as expected. We managed to get 2 more points over the last 8 games than the first 8 which was our worst start in years, is that the kind of cultivated mental strength you speak of?

We lost Arteta in the Wigan match which if I remember correctly coincided with a bad run of results for us. Aside from that, our next two fixtures after that Wigan game were tough ones away to Stoke and home to Chelsea. We drew both which was acceptable. Our last two games though were when we really missed Arteta the most though who would have the calmness and discipline to see those games out. And at stage the pressure would have been surreal so it's easy to criticise, but we still crept over the line and doing so would have fostered real belief in the minds of our players, yes.

London,

I just dont know why you went straight in with the abuse when you've admitted that part of what he was saying was true. You obviously dont like anything negative said about your club, who does? but i thought the comment was quite fair. Whilst the German league has some decent sides, i also believe the league is considered average in Europe compared to the Premiership, Le Liga, Serie A etc.

On top of that, lets be honest, FC Köln were pretty shat.
