Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa

If Agger is sold to Man City, i think this guy would be an ideal and cost effective replacement. Here is a good article all about him:

AC Milan and Newcastle are the two clubs interested in him at the moment with Borussia Dortmund sniffing around as well. He wants to go to a top club but has recently said he wouldn't mind going to Newcastle first and then moving on to a major European club. That means of we showed an interest, i'm sure he wouldn't mind a move here as well. Plus he's said that "my ambition is to one day play my football in England." Milan are the only club to have put in a bid so far which was £6million! (This is so low because he is entering the last year of his contract) This was rejected but if we get £20million plus for Agger then we would easily be able to afford Mbiwa. This would also allow us to bring in some quality elsewhere. Hopefully Gaston Ramirez but probably Joe Allen.

This guy is young, strong, fits into Rodgers' style of play and was made captain of the side that won Ligue 1 last year when he was 22. He had his best season yet last time around and is sure to become one of the best defenders in Europe. Anything around the £10million would be a bargain.

I'm guessing most people won't have heard too much about him but do you have any thoughts? Or would you rather we got someone with premier league experience who will be overpriced like Ashley Williams for example, who will cost probably another £10-15million and he's nearly 28. Older than Agger!!
