Agger

Just wondering, did anyone else watch Buck's conference?

It's a lot less alarming when viewed in its entirety than when you see phrases like "Every player has his price" being cherry-picked from it.

Obviously, with the sums of money likely to be involved, the noises that any party makes over the next week have to be viewed as a possible negotiating tactic, however Buck did emphasise that he didn't want to lose Agger.

I watched it and I agree that the quotes look worse in print.

However, I still think there is a very good chance he will go, due to the fact that he hasn't as yet signed a new contract. He said that he was happy to discuss a new contract in June, but it appears that booger all has happened, which I find very disappointing.

We'll see what happens - hopefully he stays. Could be that he's using City's interest to drive up the figure we'll offer him, which would be pretty much par for the course in modern negotiations.

That is what I'm hoping Doc.

don't it juat pi$$ you off when you stand by a player when their injury record is shocking anf then they have a half decent season when they are fully fit most of the time anf they all of a sudden want out!!

No respect!

How much has Agger earned while not playing? He's averaged something like 20 league games a season over the last 4 years while earning £2m to £3m a year.

he's obviously not alone in his selfishness!

Devon, a lot of people (including Tony Barrett) are saying that Agger doesn't want to go.

With Rodgers also saying that he doesn't want to sell, it's entirely possible that all that's happening is that we're seeing if City will make a ridiculous offer.

What I will say is that, with Agger only having 2 years left, we have to make sure that if we keep him, he's going to sign a new deal.

There's a shock. Devon getting his facts mixed up again. Agger doesn't want to leave.

"There has been contact [from City] but nowhere near the valuation of what the player is worth," said Rodgers, who makes his Anfield bow against Gomel in the Europa League qualifier second leg today. "You can only consider an offer for a player like that if it is going to benefit you. You don't want to lose a top player but if it benefits you going forward and you can make two or three steps because of it – you may have to consider it.
"But we don't want to sell Daniel so unless someone comes in with a ridiculous offer, that makes you look at it and think you can benefit in one or two other areas, there is no way I want to lose one of my best players."

Devon. He's already said he wants to begin talks on a new deal. He apparently turned up to training with YNWA tattooed on his hand....
