Bates once mentioned that fans have nothing to do with the way he runs his businness, he's oh so wrong there.
Fans choose to pay or not pay through turnstiles, buying souvenirs, programs, coffee and pies etc.
Without fans money Bates can't run the club properly.

leedslvr to play the proverbial devils advocate then maybe the falling season ticket sales and general tickets are what's keeping this club from going forwards?

shawnm339, we had the highest average attendances in the Championship in the 2010/11 season at 27,299, paying the highest prices in the division, being shown on TV the most times out of all the other Championship clubs and also played Arsenal in front of 60,000 at the Emirates and 38,000 at Elland Road.
We should have kicked on from that season, we had a good young midfield with Howson, Johnson, Kilkenny, Snodgrass and Gradel who are/were all young players, but no Bates let some leave on frees as he thought they had unrealistic wage demands. Bates once again received more money from transfer fees than he spent (same as this summer).
We could probably fill the Nou Camp and Bates would still spend fook all, or more accurately spend it on the wrong areas.

as I said just kind of playing devils advocate won't list my credentials of supporting leeds but trust me they're there I run my own business just trying understand both sides.....I get the 'support leeds through thick and thin' side I also get the 'enoughs enough fk bates side' just wondering if there's a middle ground?

I understand and respect what you're saying Shawn, however,
Exactly where is the middle ground, if there is any.
Everyone continues to go to home games and Bates hasn't a worry, he'll just keep on skimming money from LUFC, so nothing will change and the fans will eventually become more annoyed and frustrated than we are now.
Bates doesn't want premier league football, to risky for him, especially as he'll have to reveal a lot more than he'd like, plus, as I understand it, he has to pay creditors a few million once in premier league.
Fans stop going to matches, Bates doesn't have the funds to operate the club efficiently, this puts a lot of pressure on Bates and reduces the value of the club.
There'll eventually be more outgoing than incoming.
This action by fans will force Bates out, or, to change the way he does things.............the latter doesn't look good.
So it's a case of, Evil prevails if good LUFC fans do nothing.
He wants to sell while the value of the club is up. He knows the fans hate him and many are staying away, thus reducing his income from LUFC.
PLUS, he doesn't want the club in Premier League while he's in charge cos he knows there's investigations waiting for him, and the Premier League bosses have said that in past................not to mention all the other vultures and wolves that will circle him.
So if there's a middle ground, exactly what would it be?
Seems to me like a two way choice for the fans. We want Bates in, or we want Bates out...........if it's out then the appropriate action has to be taken for the future good of LUFC.
