Your thoughts (honestly)?

Yesterday we saw our (likely) new strike force of Podolski & Giroud. I know its still early days for them as Arsenal players & reliable goal threats for us, but i am curious about if, based on what we saw, they will be able to adequately replace our want-away captain.

Giroud made some good, intelligent movements & gave us a point/target man which we have lacked for a long time. Podolski was both lively & a bit quiet on the wings, although I believe we could use him a bit closer to both the main striker & creative midfield positions with him occassionally swapping positions with both carzola & Giroud. He has a wicked left foot & a very decent shot on him.

However, the question is this, do you think Giroud & Podolski can both provide the goals we need to win a trophy/do very well this season after the likely departure of RVP......

strikers will always score goals at Arsenal because of the way we are set up

even that AdeBarnDoor had a 20 goal season with us and when he jonied he couldn't even convert tap-ins

We looked very good I thought considering we had 3 new players in the squad

Teams evolve and adjust, look at Germany when Ballack got injured in the World cup, Everton when Rooney left, Arsenal when Henry left. There are many more examples when teams lose a talisman how they seem to work together more and fight back.

But RVP didn't look good yesterday though!

Who is Carzola

"If Podolski is actually played as a striker like at Cologn then yes, but if he is played on the wing like for Germany then no."

That's where he was playing yesterday, at first.
Yet he banged in two and looked and dangerous.

He'll have more freedom at Arsenal to roam.
With Germany he's expected to help out the defence as well as the attack.
Obviously he'll be doing the same for Arsenal. But not that degree.

Podli 26, Giroud 25, Arteta 30, Cazorla 27, Song 25

We have some good experienced player now unlike playing young kids who used panic in tough situation, so I expect these above player will help us win something

Song is mentally weak, put wilshere in that midfield and it has the potential to win trophies.

Yes..Wilshire is such a great talent....we are so unlucky tht he is out

Song isn't mentally weak. He's just stupid.

A friendly against a weak team can't say much, but we have many reasons to be optimistic.
Absolutey Poldi + Giroud combination is more dangerous than just 1 RVP
