We are constantly having threads discussing the merits of moving from Brunton Park.
Many suggest that BP is our spiritual home, and rather than move, we should redevelop. But what are the pros and cons of staying at BP.
Firstly BP is not Flood Proof and never will be. We can spend a fortune on flood defences but at the end of the day nature will win out and if him upstairs decides that BP will become a lake, then that will be so.
Secondly there are three means of transport in order to attend a United match.
One...Road Transport.
Two.. Rail
Three, Public ( Including foot.).
Looking at Road transport, I have never had any difficulties in getting into the Car Park at the back of Brunton Park, but getting out at the end of a match is a nightmare.
Many prefer to park in the local streets, but this has become a nightmare for the Carlisle inhabitants and I am sure as an option, very soon the Council will ensure that this option no longer becomes viable.
Rail Transports means that the walk from the Station to BP becomes the only option.
This ensures that the whole of Warwick Road is a potential battlefield between visiting fans and locals, and I am sure is the reason why the local Police oppose all Saturday Afternoon matches, with any Club that is likely to bring a large supporter base with them, and insist that such matches are played midweek ensuring a huge attendance drop.
Unfortunatly this also ensures that the Clubs revenue from such matches is also reduced.
Brunton Parks proximity to the M6 simply means that basically visiting fans have the biggest advantage of our grounds geographical position.
Sorry to say I do not feel that BP is in the perfect position, and although I have known nothing better, another site has to have greater potential.
The sooner we can sell up, and profit from the new western bypass the better.
I have only posted this thread to see if anybody is looking at this site.
I would be grateful for any response
Brunton Park. What are you good for.

I would be sad to see Carlisle leave Brunton Park, it's just something that has almost always been a part of the club but I can understand it isn't necessarily in the best of locations, however I disagree with "Brunton Parks proximity to the M6 simply means that basically visiting fans have the biggest advantage of our grounds geographical position." it helps with all of those Carlisle fans who are coming from the M6 too, also if the ground were to move it needs to be near a train station or the London Branch Supporters Club won’t be happy. It also isn't maximising its revenue potential as they still haven't built disabled access to the conference facilities in the East Stand, and I believe this is all they need to do to be able to hold events in these facilities.

Due to not being able to edit:
By "they still haven't built disabled access to the conference facilities in the East Stand" I mean as far as I am aware they are yet to build the disabled access.
