morning champions
in todays redtops ki is linked with arsenal for 7 or 8mil?! i dont think he is worth that and rate ledley kayal and victor higher but if we get near that figure id be happy and would hope lenny would get most of it to spend on 2 or 3 players plus if we were to get past helsinborgs thats more cash for us
we need to keep big wanyama if ki goes as he could be vital in champ league games in holding midfield role
we all know we need a centre back and striker in the bobo balde (at his best) and chris sutton mould players
who is there we could get for this season?
berra? is avalible from wolves think him and mulgrew would be good for celtic and scotland?
i think we could see sir martin for a loan of conner wickham for the season he would be good upfront with hooper and on his own
thoughts?
7-8mil?? - signings

If we qualify for champs Lge will Ki want to leave and go to QPR? maybe not. Arsenal yes.
Think Ki would be quality for Arsenal

I just can't see Pistol paying £6m+ for anyone let alone a player that hasn't proved himself beyond League 1.
I would love to see Rhodes at Celtic and I am sure he would want to come but Huddersfield have already knocked back £6m from Blackburn

Rhodes is good, but Celtic cannot go down the Rangers route and sign untested players (in Europe) for the likes of 6 or 7 million.
In the near future, Celtic must constantly be looking for 1 to 2 million pound players that they can develop and sell on (a la Ki, Victor, Kayal, Foster, Emilio etc.) and also for long term stars like Matthews, Forrest, McGeough (s).

Rhodes isn't the type of forward we need right now either.
Sell Hooper then yes, buy him. But we still need a target man, for want of a better term.

Rhodes will not be a celtic player as we can't aford him end of
Celtic need to be looking aborad thats were the bargains are, Championship and EPL are out of our league and well over priced.
I would like to think Lennon has targets that he wants but if we leave it to late we will pay over the odds for players, I can see us making the CL bringing in maybe 1 or 2 players and selling KI

I was saying above Jinky that the players will be identified, the prices will probably be arranged.
I expect movement if we beat helsingborgs. It won't be like the suits sitting down after we beat them and saying to each other 'right, we've got 2 days, who are we signing'.

Is kevin kyle a target man??

Tim
its catch 22 for us agree what your saying but the closer it gets to deadline the more chance prices go up as clubs want the best price for thier players.
If KI is sold and we make the CL group stages I expect us to spend 6mil max on players which leaves us 16mil................and bears before you start I have worked this out if we sell KI for 8mil which think thats poss and 15mil for group stages, so good bit a business for Celtic if this comes off ............hay we will be debt free

I would definitely go for Berra. He is a known quantity and no nonsense type of player that we need. Alongside Mulgrew we will be ok but we definitely need more back up in there. We can't just rely on Rogne to be having a good game or Wanyama to cover.
Quite like the idea of Johnny Russell but Hooper is a natural goalscorer who will always be first choice. We need a big target man like Sutton to do the dirty work for him. Sammy isn't up to the job and Stokes is too similar to Hooper though I think Hooper and Stokes link up brilliantly together at times.
I would like to see us go for another unknown ala Kayal, Wanyama. To do the target man stuff. Not to score a barrel load. On the cheap from somewhere that can do the job. Clubs are too busy looking for the goalscorers and not the target men so they should eb out there available.
