Another Agger Article

After seeing this report on the SSN website it made me wonder, maybe Agger doesn't want to go and maybe Rogers doesn't want to sell, but the owners want to sell because they know they can get a lot for him, this is effectively what I have got from the report. With Agger coming out and saying this, he has put all the pressure onto the owners as now we will all know that it was them and them only that wanted to sell, which might deter them from going ahead with the sale.

Alternatively, Agger could have made that up and is just trying to take the heat off of himself if he does go. But I personally feel it is the first one.

I'm not trying to bash the owners with this article as I feel that they have done a fairly decent job thus far and who could blame them for wanting to sell if the reported figures City are willing to pay are true, but I just wanted to know what everyone thought of this. Do you think Agger is covering his own back or do you think he is trying to put pressure on the owners? Or maybe I'm just reading too much into what he is saying and doing what journalists do and putting my own interpretation to things.

If...... Agger were to leave, who do you think we should get to replace him? Or who do you think will step in that is already in the squad? I feel behind Agger and Skrtel, Coates is our best defender, but I feel it is a bit too soon for him to be stepping into the main role although I do feel he will be a very good player from what we have seen of him so far. Also Carra is now not up to playing every game, so if Agger goes I would be inclined to say we have to buy someone else, I have no idea who though.

Or maybe Agger is a key player and like any key player, only 'monster offers' are considered. That's what I got from Rodgers' comments but if you'd rather listen to the media then so be it.

Asked if he believes Rodgers wants to sell him, Agger added: "No, absolutely not. But I do not think it is his call to make.

"I guess the owners are the ones to make that call, just like it is in any other company."

A quote from Agger.

If Agger goes, whatever is said, it will be his choice. He has a contract and cannot be forced to leave Anfield.

I just don't see why someone would get a NEW tattoo of YNWA then want to leave, if we lose him it will be a huge step backwards.

I would be very disappointed if he leaves. He says he wants to stay and he is one of our top three outfield players over the past two seasons.

He's class fits the system, is left footed so adds great balance to the team, can be effective offensively and is solid defensively.

Why sell him, now he is at his peak? The 17 millionaires and billionaires don't need the money and by keeping our best players, we have more chance of being successful thus increasing revenue.

I really want him to stay. he is loyal and obviously has a love for the football club. we need players like him.

Had a thought. What if the owners do decide to sell,
Agger gets there has his medical and then demands an extortionate amount of money. Man C say go away and he does all the way back to Anfield with a big smile on his face.

What if Agger just says no thanks, I'm happy where I am. I have 2 years remaining on my deal and will not be leaving the club at this time!

Easy!
