Crusaders 1-3 Liverpool Res. PLAYER WATCH

Was lucky enough to be at the game tonight and gotta say, the ressies look pretty good!

They played some really nice, slick football at times and looked defensively very assured.

Just thought I'd give my opinion on some of the stand-out players:

Andre Wisdom:
Assured at the back in the first half, really physical player but in the second half he used this to his advantage, driving forward on more than one occasion. Surprisingly good passing range too.

Jon Flanagan:
Looked a little shaky at the start but eventually had a very composed game, linked well with Suso on the right and was always fully committed to every tackle.

Connor Coady:
Linked the defence and midfield really well and had a great spirit all match, drove forward really well for the 3rd goal and was never afraid to receive the ball.

Suso:
Enigmatic performance from him, as he looked very lively throughout but gave possession away a little too cheaply quite often, also seemed tired quickly and rather lazy in tracking back; but his stunning vision worked wonders for the 2nd goal and he was always looking forward. Great free kick and hit the post after a decent dribble early in the second half, oozed class and danger for his whole performance.

Adam Morgan:
Great energy and workrate, was always stretching the defensive line. Did well when outside the box too, something I had questioned with him, with some good link-up play and very assured dribbles.


In my opinion, Suso needs to play a less defensive orientated role as it is obvious when he's on the ball that the team look dangerous. After he went off they looked a little short on ideas. Ability wise I think he's ready for the first team, he just needs some desire and determination. Morgan looks full of fight and could have a decent Championship player already but I feel he needs to refine his role as a striker before he can be totally ready. Finally Coady I feel is a step up on Spearing, similar player but without the abysmal ball control and passing.
