So it looks like SG is working on our midfield. I like the idea of Brown, Clingan (or the like) and Howson in the middle with Clayton pushing (though would like a good prem centre mid brought in on loan too as I really feel it was this area just as much as as our centre backs that let us down last season) and Nunez as a luxury attacking option (or perhaps he can bed into the middle?).
However, do you think SG will buy any new defenders now? A lot of the indications seem to be pointing towards him being happy with the following
Connolly, Kissa, O'B, Lees, Bruce, Parker, White & Bessone.
What are your thoughts? I think we still need a more experienced and mobile centre back coming in, though if anyone thinks Leeds can play 30+ games at this level for us and be that man, then do shout up!
Anyway, bit of a muddled up article but it's so difficult to assess anything at this time of year!

i think we were very weak and lightweight in midfield last season, getting rid of killa and johnson was a must for me, killa did nowt, not good enough for this division in my view and johnson although tried to get stuck in couldn't pass and gave the ball away all the time, with Brown in middle of the park getting stuck in and with his footballing ability being able to pick a pass out our defence will inprove, i rate o'brien, he had no decent partner and no protection last season.
I think we see a hugely improved team this season.

Connolly was excellent at RB couldn't fault , lichaj also very gd but we don't need a LB, Parker and White are products of the lufc academy , they've got more abilty than any LB in the league so I say invest in both !

I like this, but would like to see nunez involved. Would push howson back to play alongside brown and play nunez in howson's position

I would be surprised if we employed another CB.
On the books we have Paddy, O'Brien, Bromby, Bruce, Lees + other youngsters.
Im not saying I wouldnt like to see someone come in, but i just cant see it happening

Agreed, Frank. I imagine one more full back bought in then it'll be a loan if anything. If the midfield is improved from last year, then I won't be too worried about that.

Agreed that we don't want a massive pool of CB's, however if they add quality, I can see one coming in. Whats to say Bromby or Bruce aren't shipped out?
You can't tell me you expected Kasper to move to Leicester can you? I think any of the back 5 should consider their position in danger after conceding 70 odd goals last season.
Gambit...you're comment about Parker and White is without any kind of substance.

A couple of points.
I rate Clingan. Mates a big Coventry fan and loves him.
Agreed, it is unlikely we will go for another central defender, however Grayson wanted Woodgate.
About left back. White is a winger. Too leightweight and hopefully Oldham will have sorted him out. Parker is Ok but lacks pace and is injury prone. A real problem position.
