Jay Bothroyd

Would be a good signing in my opinion, proven at this level and DJ got the best out of him when at Cardiff.

Thoughts?

You mean Helenius? Now he would be a good signing, from what I seen on youtube he'd be a very exciting player for us for a big guy he aint half quick and has great feet, ok the defences in Denmark may not be as up to scratch but still. Hope we are still in the hunt. But Bothroyd too would be good also

“Marlon worked hard; we helped to get fit and we wish him all the best,” said Jones.

Now that quote should be of concern to you...Reports out of t'Well suggest that Marvellous Marlon needs a week or two to catch up with the rest of the squad...

He's aged 30, so he should have the experience to contribute to the squad.

His physical state concerns me greatly.

However, DJ being a football manager, as opposed to me being a message board user, seems to know what he's doing and also knows Bothroyd from previous clubs, so will/should know exactly what he can bring to the table for us this season.

My view; expect Bothroyd to be in and out of the starting 11 throughout the season if he maintains the level of fitness DJ wants. A good squad player but a real fitness gamble.

Having said that isn't our backroom situation much healthier than it was prior to Mandy's takeover? Therefore Bothroyd should be in safe hands should he need a service, oil change or a leg rub if he gets crocked.

Why does his fitness pose any concern? He's not got a bad history has he? Would be a 'snap their hand off' deal for me.

Same for me, good at this level, good experience at this level, good record at this level, DJ knows how to ge the bet out of him and like you say his injury records not that bad really, not exactly Darren Anderton or Franny J****S

Mega, rather optimistic of me. He should just get a woodbine, a can of Mackeson's and a like every other squad member gets when they are pronounced lame.

Many apologies.
