Blues boss Paul Jewell has praised his Blackburn counterpart Steve Kean for the way he’s dealt with the “unwarranted abuse" he’s received during his time in charge at Ewood Park. Town open their Championship campaign with a game against the Lancastrians on Saturday afternoon (KO 3pm).
Jewell said: “Looking at it from afar, from a manager’s point of view, going back to last season, I think Steve Kean’s held himself with great dignity.
“It’s a tough role. Some of the abuse he’s had has been unwarranted. We all accept we get criticism, but sometimes it goes over the line."
etc, etc, etc
Interestingly, this is is the Paul Jewell who is currently favourite to be sacked first in the Championship this season.
And here we go again...

“It’s a lonely old job this and some of the stuff he’s had to put up with, he’s dealt with it ever so well.”
Has he?

Its inevitable as football is the most look-after-your-own business going, but god I wish they'd shut up. I suppose the other factor is every other manager will obviously want him to stay in the job until they've played us twice this season.

Assuming it’s a given that this “unwarranted” praise will continue to be heaped on him, I at least wish they’d use a word other than ‘dignity.’ I mean, at least disguise the fact that they’re just imitating what they heard a pundit or another manager saying. On those wages, you’d think he could afford a thesaurus and maybe stretch to “virtue,” “moral fibre” or “nobility.”

Same s.h.1.t different day. The look after your own manager's club. Repetitive and boring now.

I don’t think Big Sam is a member of the Kean fan club…

*sigh*
New league. New managers. Same rubbish comments. Same "great manager, btw thanks for the easy three points, long may he continue, some of the abuse...beyond the pale" rubbish.
Wish one of the reporters would actually ask "what abuse?" and get the manager to say "booing and banners, like. Beyond the pale, I say, beyond the pale"
Ah, I had all season to improve my playing game (slowing more and more into my centre-half, don't venture beyond five yards circle) and cheer me up. This has depressed me again. Someone drop Kean in a big loving vat full of managers and watch him drown in adulation please.
