Sunderland manager Steve Bruce could decide to loan promising striker Oumare Tounkara to Nottingham Forest.

The new boss at The City Ground, Steve McClaren, was at Bootham Crescent on Wednesday when he saw Tounkara grab the Black Cats' second goal in the 2-1 pre-season friendly victory at York City.

A loan rather than a permanent move is more likely for Tounkara, who signed a one-year contract extension at the Stadium of Light earlier this week. He has yet to make a first-term appearance for Sunderland.
