Despite making light work of 4 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc with Mrs. McDanger last night, then seemingly cracking open a fifth and barely sniffing it (as you do), I still woke up at 6am this morning. Why? It's Christmas Day for me.
It happens every year. After 3 months of rest and relaxation, my weekend sleep cycle somehow knows to flip the switch and wake me up at the crack of dawn (she's still lovely by-the-way). Even at 43 years old it still hasn't changed. Living abroad for 15 years and rarely being able to attend games hasn't made a scrap of difference either. Nothing does. Bolton Wanderers have a game today and I'll never be any different.
Despite being bitterly disappointed about relegation over the Summer, it made me realize that it really doesn't matter to me what division we're in. I'll still spend hours each day trawling NewsNow, Sky Sports, BBC Sport and a superabundance of Wanderers related blogs for any tiny crumb of useless information I can find. Hell, I even still entertain Click Lancashire in the hope that one day they'll deliver something that I don't know. Unlikely I know but I'm all for giving everyone chance.
Well, if any of you are lucky enough to be going to the game I'm very jealous - there is nowhere I'd rather be today. Make some noise for the boys and help them bring home 3 points, gift-wrapped preferably.
Have a good day lads. Disagreements apart (I'll save my only gripe for another time), I'm sure we're all hoping for the same outcome today. If it doesn't work out as well as we'd hoped, at least we won't have so long to wait for the next game.
Anyhow, my boys are stirring and will be up and asking for the iPad any minute now. I may let them use it this morning. Christmas spirit and all that!
Merry Christmas!

Season's greetings, sir !
Don't eat too much turkey today and wrap up warm if you're off ice-skating in Central Park.
Does The Village Voice not have a dedicated Bolton Wanderers section? That IS surprising.....
Maybe you could start one?

Ahhh... there you are. Morning, Sir!
Just had a quick scan of the VV website. Lots of very strange goings on but nothing quite as crazy as a Wanderers section.

Morning ladies. If you key 'Bolton' into the search box on the VV website, the first headline to come up is;
'Make Saul Bolton's Nitehawk Cinema Beef Jerky'
Which Is simply beautiful. Like something James Joyce and Dylan Thomas would have come up with during a particularly spectacular pissup.

Or it could be a recipe from "Cooking with James Elroy".
Seriously though, Fin, does the Championship get any coverage on ESPN?

Nah. ESPN is poor. I'm having a tough time finding anything much at all at the moment. Live updates on the Wanderers site is the best I have so far

For some reason its listed as Burnley v Barnet, but I think it could work.

This is turning into one of those Christmases when you get a naff jumper, the turkey's dry and hard and your wife's annoying family turn up and drink all your booze.....
Bah humbug!
