Makes a refreshing change to win the opening fixture of the season, not done it for 7 years prior to today.....and what a fantastic team performance against one of the more fancied outfits in this league.
Couldn't fault any of the players today, they all played with determination, commitment and a self-belief that was a pleasure to watch.
Really impressed with some of the new arrivals, thought Cywka, Etuhu and Mellis were excellent and Stones' performance against Emnes was simply top class. Well done to Hill & co.
Also, on good authority, deal agreed and Martin Cranie to sign on Monday.

Very good performance. Immense at the back kept their shape superbly...Midfield, brilliant, first to almost every 50/50, never let Boro settle..beats me why Perkins has so many detractors, thought he was tremendous, a real captain's shift
Davies and Harewood showed glimpses that they could develop into a decent partnership...Davies appeared to be much stronger than last term, Harewood seemed to tire, but he's had the burden of a pre-season with those slackers down the A61.
All-in-all, a good day at the office..but I reckon Wolves on Tuesday will give us a much sterner test.

Well . . . I honestly thought we would lose, on the basis that Boro have a good team and smashed us at Oakwell last season. It's great to have been proven wrong Can we now do the same at Wolves? Again I doubt it, but again, I'd love to be proven wrong.
