Despite predictions on here for 30k and statements like 'we have already sold 27k' it would seem these were wildly incorrect with a final figure under 24k. For the first league game of the season against potentially one of our biggest rivals this season, why was it so low?
If I'd known there would be so many empty seats I would have driven the 400+ miles round trip and 'paid at the gate'.
I had noticed that there were loads of seats 'unavailable' on the seating plan, and with statements like the above I didn't bother.

Only Leicester and Derby had more - not bad considering we pay Premiership prices.
We had a squad of League 1 players and paid Prem prices - our average crowds were brilliant for that league - now we have a squad full of Championship players we are in a double dip recession, Bates has had his last chance by many (including me) - we will have record away fans for this league this season - takeover happens and Bates goes then we will add 40-50% to that gate

Early kick off, expensive and on tv. Championship football, got a higher attendance than many prem teams. Got a good win against a strong team, better complain about something!

It's sad when you think that we used to sell out the first game of the season when we were in League One.
£31 was a shocking price for this, especially seeing as it was on TV and early.

LIW- 24k is realistic these days when cash is short and the game is on tv,go to ER and spent £30? or much cheaper option to watch on tv in the pub and have a few beers?
