*ribbit*
Hello again fellow JA606's, apologies for lack of input recently so I thought I'd make up for it with a nice long article for you all.
Anyway, as we know our squad has gone a bit crazy recently so with under 2 weeks of the transfer window left I feel now is a good time to really look at the squad and see where we need to strengthen and who needs to go
Goalies
Players: Szczesny, Fabianski, Mannone
Possible Youth Team Players: Martinez
Verdict: I'm happy here, unless we lose one in the transfer window then experienced back up is needed.
Defenders
Players: Sagna, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Santos, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Djourou, Koscielny, Squillaci
Possible Youth Team Players: Miquel, Yennaris
Verdict: Squillaci should hopefully be sold but I fear this may not happen and he should be replaced by Miquel, only weak spot is RB but Jenkinson looked solid yesterday, however wasn't ever really tested so just hope Sagna is back soon with Yennaris able to play if needed.
Central Midfielders
Players: Diaby, Rosicky, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Carzola, Coquelin, Frimpong, Oxlade-Chamberlain
Possible Youth Team Players: Yennaris, Aneke
Verdict: With Song leaving and a number of these players injury prone I feel the loan signing of Sahin would be perfect, we could maybe do with a proper DM such as M'Villa or similar but Wenger played 2 deep lying midfielders yesterday which could make up for a lack of a proper destroyer and definitely suits our current crop of players so I would be apprehensive to sign another CM permanently especially with Carzola looking to have tied down the most advanced role and Wilshere soon to be back with Oxlade-Chamberlain also looking to play CM this year.
Wingers
Players: Walcott, Gervinho, Podolski, Arshavin, Oxlade-Chamberlain
Possible Youth Players: Gnarby, Eisfield
Verdict: Lots of talent here, but very frustrating, Arshavin looks increasingly likely to say which could be good news as he definitely has talent and is looking a lot fitter this year. We need more consistent performances especially from Walcott and Gervinho and this could be a real area of threat and there needs to be goals from here with the loss of RVP.
Centre Forwards
Players: Giroud, Podolski, Bendtner, Chamakh, Park
Possible Youth Players: None
Verdict: This is annoying as the amount of deadwood is ridiculous, Park and Chamakh should not be at the club and need to be sold ASAP, I think we need 3 quality strikers to challenge, Bendtner has the talent to be our third choice striker but has no desire to stay and therefore this is the area that I believe some money needs to be spent, apparently talk of Llorente today who I think would be a wonderful signing.
Anyway there's my views, thoughts on transfers and tactics would really be appreciated and this squad definitely has potential. COYG.

When you put the strikers like that
We need to buy there.

Definitely, I think a new striker should be our priority otherwise we could be in trouble, especially as Giroud and Podolski need to adapt to the league.

Do you think we need to buy a new DM?

2 mids plus a striker and I'll be happy. So basically Sahin, a DM and a good forward with the ability to play across the front three.

I agree in general terms to most of your comments, particularly our forwards but I disagree about Jenkinson. Jenkinson IMO lacks something. I can't put my finger on it but I don't think he is cut out to be a first team player. He's got a something of a 'Philippe Senderos' about him....and that can't be good!

Strikers are
I thought Poldi and Giroud would be problem solved, but after the first game it looks like they'll need a bit of time. Chamakh has to go, offers nothing and we offer nothing to him (except excessive wages ). I wouldn't have minded Bendtner staying but he's not, so bye Nick.
I actually rate Park, for me he is a good third choice striker, although maybe we do need someone better to help Poldi and Giroud settle.
