A lot has been said of our new recruits and whether they'll be good enough.
After Saturday, I think "Yes", with the chief reason being Warnock's know-how when it comes to winning a game and the way he sets us up.
For the first time in seasons, we had a big presence in the middle of the midfield. Becchio did the exact job that suits his ability, Ross will never mis-control a pass and has the footwork to pass defenders with ease, the defence was rigid and looked in-penetrable at times. Kenny was quiet, but looks like his passing will help a lot in building attacks. EHD could be a great alternative up top, not judging his judgement on one sub appearance though.
We may not have the best players in the league, but we have the best club and the best manager to get us up - MOT to the prem.

Surely its a good thing that Kenny was quiet

I thint Ross' goal for Scotland must have improved his confidence as he was excellent on Saturday.
Warnock got his tactics right, substitutions and breaking up play when under pressure in the second half (including some yellow cards which if they had been less obvious would have been just fouls)

Lets talk about this after 6/7 games - far too early to judge how good we are just yet. Lets not get too carried away with beating a side that has lost its previous 14 games

We came out of the blocks well and took Wolves by surprise as they never saw that last season. the stats show that we got twice the number of bookings they got, which only shows that we had more desire and passion, although some of the bookings were nothing. When was the last time we saw heart from every player on the team, and we havn't under Grayson because there were some players who were always picked even after playing badly. Made for an uneasy atmosphere in the dressing room and a lot of upset. Warnock makes them give their all or sit on the bench ....

Austin was my MOTM but Ross looked sharp, very sharp. The chasing / closing down was a joy to watch from everyone. 2 more players then utilise youth in the Cups, I'm not daring Moto dream just yet.

What interested me most was that unlike last season the players never changed shape or capitulated as Wolves came increasingly into the game.
All I saw were the same Leeds United players showing nothing more than evidence of a Pre-Season of limited challenge fitness wise. The ascendancy of Wolves was down to increasingly tired legs more than anything else. As the players progress through the next 3-4 games, I can see nothing more than there being a marked improvement on Saturday's performance in terms of keeping the tempo up fpr 90 minutes instead of 60 or so minutes.
Hard to find fault really; it would be unfair to expect any team to have all players firing on all cylinders for all games.
Overall, well done to Warnock for putting this lot tgether and giving us some realistic cause for optimism this season.

I agree Real Estate - my other concern was when Warnock made his 1st sub after half time and shifted 5 positions around.
