Many believe Arsene to be stingy with money, when it comes to the transfer window, last season it required an 8-2 humping before he splashed the cash. However, this isn't about him being stingy or not, it's about whether he spends his cash wisely?
Obviously he did, from the 90's bargains like Vieira through the most recent success's of Fabregas, Nasri, and even RVP.
However, has he lost his touch in signing quality players?
The disappointment of Bendter, Chamakh, Mertesacker, Park, even Gervinho hasn't been outstanding. This season, Cazorla, has looked the part in the midfield and i'm sure he will be a worthy investment, but I can't see podolski being the world class striker that will get Arsenal the 25-30 goals a season to push them up the table.
Don't get me wrong, all these players are good, just maybe not of the quality players we are used to seeing at Arsenal
I realise this article might go down like a fart in space suit, but these are just my thoughts
Tight Fisted Arsene

I don't think anyone expected podolski to get 25-30 goals! There are not many strikers in the world who can get that! And especially not in their first season!
The hope is that Giroud, Podloski and Cazorla will make up for the goals we missed from RVP. Also chuck in the likes of Walcott, chamberlain and gervinho who I expect will score more this season.
Furthermore there is a chance we could still bring in a striker.

Messr Wenger is the best in the world at getting the best out of average players and then convincing other managers to overpay the club to let them go.
He is also the best business manager in the PL.
Be grateful

Prices of even relative unknowns have gone up. It's unlikely that we'd be able to sign Vieira for £3.5m now. Or Dennis Bergkamp, who was a runner-up in WPOTY before we signed him, for £7.5m (and once afterwards).
When people are snapping up people like Carroll for £35m, value is difficult to find.
Newcastle did amazingly well to find some of their signings on bargains last season.

Bendtner was a product of the academy, Mert is a german international, and Gervinho had more assists and goals last season than Ashley Young(and it was his 1st season)
Arsene gets it wrong sometimes in the transfer market but that's the same for all managers and to be fair to Arsene he gets it right more times than not.

I might say Fergie is better. I don't think any United fan would have issue with me saying that there midfield for the past few seasons has no right to be winning premier league titles. Yet they do
Wenger is better at spotting the talent no one else see's, and then unlocking it

You'd swear Wenger never signed any flops when we were winning trophies. Stepanovs, Luzhny, Jeffers, Diawara, Richard Wright, Grimandi (don't care what you say he was shíte) were all at the club when we won doubles! Wiltord, and Reyes, both record signings never settled, and all these off the top of my head.

I think all the managers of those foreign clubs got sick of wenger taking their players for peanuts, turning them into worldies and selling them on for fortunes, so now when they see him knocking on the door they say to themselves "here's that cheeky b4stard wenger again, we'll stitch him up good and proper this time"

for my 2nd article in a row - its Gazidis fault.
he handles negotiations and we have apparently lost players like Mata cos he messed about on small details so they thought we werent that bothered about them.
Wenger has said several times, give me the mony and I'll spend it.

He had a pretty injury hit season and always took a game or two to get going after injury. So that isn't a great stat...
