Liverpool won their second pre-season match on Saturday afternoon against a Malaysia XI, and got another goal glut in the process.
It took until the 27th minute to get the first goal, and it was harsh on Malaysia, as Andy Carroll went down easily under a challenge from a defender and the penalty was given. Charlie Adam stepped up to put it away, but it had to be retaken. But Adam made no mistake once again and this time it counted.
But two minutes before half time, Malaysia were level after winning a free kick. Mohd Safiq Rahim stepped up to curl it in, although the wall did not do its job properly, and goalkeeper Brad Jones could have done better.
Once again the Reds sent out a completely different XI for the second half, and the stand out performer was unquestionably Alberto Aquilani. David Ngog got the second goal on 68 minutes following some good footwork, and eventually had a simple tap-in after a defensive calamity by Malaysia.
Two minutes later he also scored the third, as he was put through on goal and smashed it into the net. And five minutes later, Maxi Rodriguez made it four as he slotted in following Emiliano Insua's cross.
But, like against Guangdong, the Reds' defence suffered some lapses in concentration. On 79 minutes, Mohd Sali reduced the deficit with a close range tap in, and scored another three minutes later with a low shot after racing through on goal. And Malaysia threatened to get an unlikely equaliser on more than one occasion.
But Liverpool killed the game off in injury time, as Rodriguez headed in from Dirk Kuyt's cross. And Kuyt himself added the sixth in the fourth minute of stoppage time to wrap it up.
Liverpool hold a training session in Singapore before returning home to continue their pre-season against Hull City next Saturday.

Entertaining stuff, good for the crowd there so good for Liverpool overall. Aqua played very well and Kelly looked good too. Were conceding a few but the back four is being chopped and changed allot.
Also mention for Adam thought he was our only good player in the firs half.
Happy with that hope Aqua stays.

Six goals, Exiled. And it's pre-season. Plus we're scoring a lot, which is promising.

When you rotate your defense so much you expect lack of consistent defending. Defenders also struggle the most in friendlies because of pace and fitness. Our first choice left back: Aurelio and first choice right back: Johnson and first chocie defensive midfielder: Lucas, have all not playerd yet!

Come on redmen.
Norwich was only counting the fingers on his deformed webbed hands.
Anway about the important stuff, the only thing of note I taking from these pre season friendlies is the following;
1) We have played a 4-2-3-1 in both games.
2) We are scoring goals, which we weren't doing last season (we didn't score any last season).
3) Carroll looks like he has a lot to do to fit in with our style of play and his team mates need to learn how to provide the best service for him.
4) We now how a multitude of options compared to the same time last year.
Lastly, I fully expect either one of Aquaman or Merieles to leave.
