Liverpool, Sunderland and Spurs are all 'interested' in the winger. In my opinion, he is the one of the most direct players in the PL, when he gets the ball, the always looking to attack the defence.
So which team would he be best suited?
Personally, I think he would be best at Liverpool, show Downing how to actually score or get an assist. Ease the scoring pressure off Suarez perhaps?

He would be a great signing for us, can cover both wings which is very handy.

He won't get in our team but he'd be great cover for both wings.

Certainly no potential to end up about Siggy.

I bet it will be £10m for Sunderland and £15m+ for Liverpool.

I wouldn't mind Johnson. How many times have we wanted cover for that left hand side while Lennon has been out injured? There have been a few occasions.

Always thought he was overrated personally. Wouldn't mind seeing him at Liverpool but for the right price although buying from City will always be a nightmare with wages and we're picky.

had/has potential but comes across as JoeCole-lite who can't be ar5ed half the time.
Maybe he's just annoyed at the lack of playing time and would step up in a new environment.

Certainly has more confidence than Downing but there are doubts over his temperament and attitude in training and tracking back.
Talent wise he walks into our team, but there is more to football than talent.
Will probably go to Spurs anyway if it's a choice.

It is now reported in the Independent that LFC, and .brendan, has been given the financial backing to move into the no.1 slot to sign him. If true, great.he hasn't been on the park enough times to pass judgement on, but he certainly looks capable. Here's hoping. jimmyTheRed
