Maguire the striker we need?

As I think everyone knows now Maguire is pretty much a Rams player. Is he the answer to our prayers for a top striker who will score at least 15+ a season which is needed to really challenge for the top 6 places. With 7 goals in 35 league appearances it doesn't sound good for a player who is playing in a weak league. He did score 4 goals in 5 scottish cup games though which is slightly better reading.
I will be honest I am not a massive supporter of the Scottish Premier League and believe there is little real quality in the league just two sides who are the equivalent of good championship sides.
I hope he proves to be a striker who can score 15+ a season though he is still young and can progress to be a top striker in this league. And if he can do this again it would be good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTeNXj1q2Fk

At least Nigel Clough is bringing proven championship players in!! Has our manager got the know how to actually get a player in? No wonder Tom Glick is bringing a financial director in!! Thats me being sarcastic about brining players in, I've heard it all before!!

Will be surprised if [pleasantly] if he proves a math winner. Didn't Porter have a reasonable record up there? He did score when he played fully fit, just not often enough.
Watched a re-run of coronation st yesterday, are we heading for same old, same old?
Hope Not !

All we can do is hope with him as he has only played Scottish football. Does anyone know who the left back we are after? because I havent heard one name and we definately need one rather than buying striker after striker.

it looks like we are not bringing a lot in, the way Nigel's talking.........http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,16501_6900660,00.html He's saying we have got a good squad, if that's the case Mr Clough, why did we finish in the bottom 6? These amateurs who are running this club can pull the wool over some fans eyes, but not mine!! It seems we are penny pinching again, trying to get free transfers in again.

It worries me paying decent money for Scots Prem players when you look at last season Kenny Misser was only overtaken as leading goal scorer at the end on the season and he played for less than half a season. Kris Commons scores for fun up there so it shows that the calibre of players we sent to Scotland was way above who was already there.

In fairness to Maguire, he seems to be quick thinking (his goal against Iceland) & maybe he wants a new challenge. Players like Stephen Dobbie & Graeme Dorrans came down from Scotland and proved themselves.

Maguire comes across as a similar type of player to Ward; what happens if Ward gets injured, we're stuck. Getting in someone like Maguire means we have options.

The margins in this league can be narrow, the sides who tend to do better are the ones with options on their benches.

I agree we need more experienced players from the Championship, so hopefully we'll get a blend in (Championship, SPL, maybe a PL loan & a couple from the lower leagues).
