now while i have enjoyed seeing Chelsea sweep up on FA Cup triumphs in recent season's, i haven't particularly liked seeing other top teams fielding weakened teams and crashing out and not really caring.
Its known as a distraction by a lot of clubs, but i can tell you know i loved the moment the final whistle went against Liverpool in May, its the oldest club competition in the world and i was delighted to see us win it and as other club's will probably carry on disrespecting it, i would happily see Chelsea carry on winning it at the rate we have been lately.
So imho something has to be done to bring the competition back to the way it use to be so ALL the top teams will start treating it like a proper competition again, and there really is only 2 options.
1. Offer a massive financial insentive to the winners, maybe even on par with the money you get from winning the title.
2. Offer a Champions League qualification place to the winners, therefore kicking the team that finished 4th out of it. That way things will be spiced up in the FA Cup and more competitive with teams really going for it and there will also be a different complex to the PL, where teams will have to play on the assumption only top 3 will be enough to get a CL place.

The FA Cup

Don't agree with number two at all.
One team might get a much easier run to the final than another. After that it just comes down to one game of football where one or two bad decisions could cost you a place in the champions league.
Whilst the same could happen in the league, it is far less likely. The FA cup is fine as it is.

Agree with #2. FA Cup winners > 4th place

I think your getting carling and Fa cup mixed up mate.
I don't know a single team who has fielded a weak team in the Fa cup
