5 live on KP texts

On 5live last night they explained what is reportedly in the texts that KP sent.

Aside of some afrikaans rude words about Strauss apparently he was also telling them how to get him out.

Deal breaker for me and I hope he never plays for us again in any format. Honestly quite disgusted.

Tattoo what you like. You can take the boy out of South Africa but you can't......

I would cringe if I heard prior to an ashes series that we were dropping Andy Strauss for Joe Root
.............

Why?

Do you honestly believe Strauss will be in the fold in 12 months time?

The recent WI series aside he has contributed very little for the past 2 years averaging a shade over 30 and generally struggling to see off the new ball.

If it wasn't for the form of those around him which masked over his own shortcomings with the bat and the fact that he presided over England's rise to the top he probably would've been dropped a while ago.

Lets not exaggerate he's been a good captain but nothing spectacular and we've seen in this series when the batting has been woefully exposed and the bowling off colour he hasn't had any answers, pretty much like the rest of the year. His form with the bat isn't a bad phase it's far too long for that, IMO he's a batsman in decline. Who knows he might scrape the odd 50 but he'll never be profilic again. The Philander dismissal on Sunday was particularly ugly.

Root's done enough so far to deserve a shot looking ahead and by the time of the Ashes he'll be approaching 23. I'd even move Trott up to open ahead of Strauss at the moment.

I cant find any information on these alleged fall outs with hampshire and kwazulunatal players. in fact i think you have invented them.

so far as im aware he has fallen out with the following people in his career :

- paul newell (who snapped KP's bat when he heard he wanted to leave)

- peter moores (who was sacked by ECB as a result of the incident)

- his england team mates (who have published books slaggging him off, and leaked stories about him to the press).

I dont know about you, but ive fallen out with more than 3 people in my life !

To me, it seems perfectly plausable that KP is just a victim of his own talent

There is no truth to KP having a fallout in Natal. He left as he was unhappy with the quota system which hampered his chances. KP even played for Natal in 2010 in preparation for the Ashes.

Ok read allot of comments here, Now lets look at the start of the test against SA, England were all over the place, and again and I will keep saying this Strauss has not performed as a captain and even more so has been shocking with the bat.

Now as the series went on Strauss didn't improve so cracks were starting to appear in the team, as the bowlers were also struggling to get the SA batsman out. Now KP who for me is Englands main threat FACT, hit 150 odd and bowled 3 SA players out when really he is a partime spinner.

So for me allot of green eyed players are not happy as this shows them up Broad who for me is a spoilt bratt, Swann being the number 1 spinner in the world has gone to his head.....but don't see to many England fans digging at him when he shoots his mouth off

And finally Strauss who is well below par and for me needs to go back to basics whith the bat and pass the armband on.

KP is a pratt but to be honest so are a few more that play for England but because they are English nothing is said, every player has the right to question the captain and again speculation on what was sent on the txts as I don't see prove from anywhere that KP has addmitted to sending txt to SA players on how to get them out. SA havent leaked this and if his own players have then ask yourself the question, why ????

Its simple for me England will never regain the number 1 spot while KP is out of the team because for me he is one of the reasons that they were there, also winning the 20-20 world cup again thanks to KP, so all you KP haters have very short sighted.

I will always love to watch KP play and hope I am lucky enough to see him back in the England team

Just a question to the other posters on this thread...

Is bad behaviour only unacceptable if it gets leaked to the press, or is bad behaviour unacceptable irrespective of who gets to know about it?

Good point and I doubt we know the half of it.

Strauss has just retired.

although there's a strong likelyhood that it's to do with these dressing room shenanigans, it's quite possible that he thinks his eyes have gone and cant bat anymore. remember he's reached 50 5 times in the last 30+ test innings, and his last dismissal was an absoloute shocker.

they say that it's time for a batsman to retire when his eyes go, and that it happens very quickly.
