We did the right thing.

Look when i found out i was shocked, angry and upset that we missed out on a player of sahin's quality to liverpool of all clubs. A trio of sahin-arteta-cazorla would have been immense.

But heres why it happened..........

1) Sahin hopes he can still make it at Madrid and so do the club. This is well documented as something both parties has stated, hence why is up on loan.

2) The major stumbling blocked proved to be our intentions to make the deal permanent after and you would all agree there would be no point to it otherwise. Arsenal wanted to make sure of this and madrid did whatever they could to prevent that from happening. Which is why im pretty sure we could not get an agreed purchase price, because they didn't want to offer one. If we were willing to pay 14 million upright, why would we say no to paying that at the end of the loan? Most likely got a first/variable option if they decided to sell and that would not be good enough because of point 3.

3) Wages/Liverpool upping the gambit. Liverpool are reportedly paying a 5 million loan fee and 70% of his wages which tallies to £8 million. That is a silly price to pay for a loan considering for 4 or so million more we could probably sign yann m'villa. Also say they signed him permanently for 14 million that would be £24 mil spent on getting sahin ( we are scared to go beyond 15)

So in conclusion, real forced a deal through with Liverpool because they would get more money and there is much less chance, close to zero of the player moving there on a permanent basis. Whereas arsenal effectively wanted a permanent transfer to be put in place. Getting him any other way woulda been stupid, see liverpools willingness to do so as evidence of that.

Right lets hope we get that other mid in the meantime whilst sahin doesnt pull up any trees at anfield; so no other team sniff's around. Then when his madrid career is ended next summer we can swoop in ala cazorla.

A liverpool fan trying to Wum

Look if we had gotten them to agree to a 14 million purchase price and 2 million loan fee that would have been a steal. Fact is madrid didnt want that to happen because sahin woulda been happy to stay at our club. The only people dumb enough to be happy to stay at liverpool is andy carrol

Where exactly did you get all this fine detail of a loan deal that still hasn't gone through yet ?

From news reports and common sense. What do you think they were negotiating for ?

I havent seen the £5m loan fee anywhere. All i've seen is 70% of his wages. With Some reports saying there is an option to buy and some saying there isnt.

But £5m loan fee.... thats just a fabrication on your part.

Also stating that we are paying £8million in wages is ridiculous. You obviously are not very good at maths.
