The US team is looking very strong plus home advantage rightly puts you in the position of favourites.

I will wait until Davis makes his picks before making any predictions other than who that might be.

Mahan, Stricker, Furyk, and Fowler finished in the places just outside qualification. Also, Snedeker, Dustin Johnson, and Watney appear to be in the frame.

Stricker, as well as having plenty of experience is one of the few players that can make up a dynamic partnership with Woods so despite is recently indifferent form, I expect him to be there.

Beyond that it is a bit up in the air. Furyk also has plenty of that much needed experience and the word in the US golfing media is that Love wants to pick Fowler. Watney, Johnson, and Snedeker are all in good form as shown at the Barclays.

Also, we still have the Deutsche Bank this weekend before the picks are made so there is a possible that someone else may put themselves in the frame with a strong result, someone like Bill Haas or Jonathan Byrd.

The one I haven’t mentioned is Hunter Mahan who according to one source is the most likely to miss out

Perhaps it is testament to just how strong your team is this year but Mahan, with two victories already this season not making the team just seems incredible.

Anyway, it makes for an interesting weekend.

Johnny Miller was bang on the money last night with his prediction of Johnson, Snedeker, Furyk, and Stricker.

I thought that Mahan would get a pick but even despite that I still make the US favourites. The US players are on a whole playing better than the Europeans plus have home advantage.

I think it will be close though and I am looking forward to an exciting tournament

Great picks from Love. It will be a better cup for it. I thought he'd succumb to pressure and pick that clown, Fowler. Mahan is the only one with a right to feel aggrieved but he's been poor for months and has a suspect short game.

Love has gone for experience......

Mahan is crazy nonpick...probably the way he crumbled against Mcdowell was the pincher!!
