about a new striker... now i'm very aware that it would be a huge gamble to go into the season with just torres and sturridge as strikers (maybe moses at a stretch), for the obvious reasons. i'm also aware i'm thinking very prematurely now.
BUT... with the way torres is starting to play it looks promising... and when sturridge comes on he does too. furthermore, if Lukaku has a full season like he's going to come back expecting (rightly) to play a part. if we sign a striker it pushes him further down the order and i fear we will lose another great talent.
what to do?
little bit in two minds here

Stick. Not worth risking it on another striker who may not even come good. Worst comes to worst we play some of our youth - Patrick Bamford, Piazon or even young Feruz.
If we're going to be in transition we should actually act like we're trying to develop a new team, not do more short-term buying that, as you rightly point out, will simply force our youth further down the pecking order and mean they leave/fade away/get sold for peanuts.

The problem is
Torres = 28
Sturridge = 21
Lukaku = 21
So at the moment we have one main striker and two young strikers up and coming albeit Lukaku is on loan.
But if torres continues this great form then come next season we're going to have 4 strikers which is just crazy.
Better off just a) sticking with what we have, b) signing hulk or c) signing a short term option like Owen or something, but i'd rather play Piazon or Hazard as a false #9 tbh if Torres/Sturridge were both suspended/injured etc
