HARGREAVES AND OWEN

Now before I get a barrage of 1*s hear me out please!

The negatives of having these players:

1. Are Manc rejects

2. Are injury prone

3. Are past their peak

4. Worthless having as would stunt youth development

5. High wages

Responses to those negatives:

1. No shame in that. We are not competing with the Mancs.

2. If they are fully fit which they appear to be then the past is past.

3. They are but they can still offer something to the club

4. Would you rather have Chamakh or Owen start? And would you rather Hargreaves started instead of Frimpong? Chamakh and Frimpong can/should be sold/loaned out anyway.

5. Wouldn't be if we got them on play-as-you-play. They would be highly motivated to salvage their career so shouldn't demand too much

Now positives of Hargreaves:

1. Experienced natural CDM. We do not have this presently

2. Great leader and winning influence

Now positives of Owen

1. Still a natural world class finisher. How many chances did we create last year? How many tap ins did RVP score. Alot. Owen would more than get his fair share of these

2. Again, a winner and a leader ideal for the squad.

I feel they both would offer something to the club from the bench (OH if we needed to close out a game and MO if we needed a goal quickly). If we were forced to start due to an injury crisis I feel they would do a better job than Chamakh and Frimpong.
