I was watching MOTD, watching the Chelsea game and saw the penalty incident and to me Torres went over far too easily. I didn't see much contact to send him over.
I keep hearing people say as long as there is contact, it is a penalty. So contact can be minimal, but if the striker falls over easily, is it a penalty?
So if a defender taps a striker on the shoulder and the striker just falls over, is it a penalty or would you call it a dive?
Thoughts?

To paraphrase the Fifa laws, unintentional or intentional, or careless (which it was), or violent (which it wasn't), trip is a direct free kick, and if the offence is in the area it's from the penalty spot.

This is similar to the Young pens or last season. Young wasn't cheating then and I dont Torres wasn't cheating for the pen that was given yesterday since there was contact, but like Young of course he exaggerated his fall.

dont think it was a dive, just made the most of the contact that was there, but it was a penalty without question
