on criticism of the strikers…

"I do not listen too much to what people say [on TV]. I listen and I try to see if it is exaggerated or not. I have worked for 30 years on the football pitch every day, and I know what it is to improve a football player and what it is to go out morning and afternoon and try to make a player. Not everybody can say that."

Wenger knows

Would also like to commend the fullbacks today both were top class. We can build on this next weekend and im excited for the season. Its also good too know we are still looking to add to the team, wenger also said that the team was "missing something", he definitely has an ace up his sleeve

A back up striker is fine. Anyone is better than chamakh!

whats the latest with chamakh? he wasn't on the bench so i presume he is on the way out then. Wasn't there a rumour about him joining malaga on loan? if thats the case you really should feel sorry for them

Also, why the hell is niang going to everton? Some of europes elites were after him and a host of top premier league clubs, if he impressed soo much on loan why dont we bring him in? Seriously, everton have had a 3 million pound bid accepted and Caen tried to ask double for us.

It doesn't make much sense really, especially from the players point of view i terms of development. If he is as good as everyone says we should seal the deal, no way the player would choose everton over us?

I dont know im not expecting anything as dramatic as the arteta deal last season, but im expecting a few twists and turns. Also Jean Makoun has joined Rennes, a possible Yann M'villa replacement ?

Yes was very impressed with the defence today, Mertesacker in particular. Also, credit to Mannone, he looked solid throughout today, dealt with Stoke's balls in to the box very well. I think he's earnt the right to be first choice understudy to Szceszny now, above Fabianski. I'm more concerned about the offensive part of the team quite honestly, would like to see another forward player come in, Dempsey perhaps? Also, has there been any advancement on the Tiote rumour? He'd be a great signing, for sure.

Wenger said today he wouldn't be signing Tiote

So it looks like we're getting him
