I think this guy will be our player of the season by a fair distance.
On another note, it's thoroughly refreshing that Buck weighed everything up and didn't exclude Raheem just because he's a little 'un and the champions were in town. He's putting faith in his ability and, by the looks of things, he'll be rewarded.
What an incentive for our other youngsters. I heard rumours that talks had broken down over a new contract for Suso - I hope he realises what an opportunity he has here.
Tremendous amount of positives from today, onwards and upwards.
Joe Allen

i think allen was class today as was shelvey. with sahin coming in, i think gerrard has got a real job on his hands getting in this team. i think thats great to as he needs to be worked out like chelsea are doing with lampard. its time for these other players to step up and lead the team like gerrard used to.
also sterling showed us just what we've been missing for years today. a quality winger. lets get another one soon and kick out downing

I remember us having a discussion on this before he signed Doc. Joe Allen can make a real difference this season

Great minds and all that, PPD
I was utterly convinced he'd be a success, I love absolutely every aspect of his game. His passing, his movement, his positioning and his tackling.
He's got the heart of a lion; a couple of years ago he was playing in the Championship, now he's a shining light for Liverpool after people were questioning his price tag and ability to cut it at a club under the pressure we're under now, it's such an uncertain time for us.
99% of players would have wilted, but he looks so confident and comfortable, he just gets on with being an utter boss. His mentality reminds me of the bottle Lucas showed around 2008 and 2009.
Also great to see Shelvey coming in and doing so well, and an improvement in Gerrard's performance.

Agreed
He adds some much needed composure and intelligence to the engine room of the team. He can pass, he can tackle, his positioning is superb and his ability to take the ball when under pressure and play the pass is something we have badly needed.
Given his age £15m could prove a snip.

Up untill the 51st minute, Allen hadn't given the ball away once!
That is a scarey fact against mancity, a team with yaya being one of the best midfielders in the league!

He was excellent. Looks a really good signing. If he carries on like that, he will become a legend. Seems like a decent person too.

*Sighs patiently*
What on earth has the amount of points we currently have on board got to do with who our best player might be?
My days.

I guess all the people questioning the Allen purchase have gone quiet yay
