Good afternoon peeps. Now that Luka Modric has finally joined Madrid, This week will see frantic transfer activity at the lane. If Dawson and one or two others leave we could have a transfer kitty of £40 mil upwards. I personally think we will sign two players before midnight Friday, a creative sitting midfielder to replace Luka and a winger/forward. I would love to see us sign Dembele from Fulham. Flourishing in the prem already, his last game against Man u he was outstanding. Lets look at his credentials - He has a fantastic physique, athletic with a burst of pace. He has a fantastic shot, great passer, statistically one of the best tackling midfielders. He offers versatality, He could play alongside Sandro/Parker in the two infront of the defence. He could also play if needed in the vdv/sigurddsson role if we had injuries there. Fulham wont want to sell of course but we should be ready to part with £20 million as he is worth it. Now onto the winger/striker position. We have had a bid of £11.8 m rejected by Shaktar for Willian, Clearly a player AVB rates, We have also been rumoured to be back in for Remy and i believe we still hold a big interest in Sturridge. On the goal keeping front we are rumoured to be in for Butland/Cesar and Loris. Although it wouldnt suprise me if the transfer window passes without us signing a GK. So when we all wake up Saturday Morning on the day we have a must win game against Norwich, who would you like to see bought in / depart from our squad?

Quite frankly I can see a few young players not joining you because they know if they are good but everyone else is rubbish, they will still be forced to stay ALA luka

Dembele and Isco from Malaga in please. I think we need some more intelligene play from the wings. We need players that will allow us to sometimes put the handbrakes on and pick our passes rather than our wingers having to beat the last man at pace each time getting crosses in that dont come to anything. Most of the time these come to nothing but makes our wingers look good as they can beat a man.
So we need a plan B sometimes and that is play more through the middle. We very rarely score goals through the middle and players like Dembele(center with Sandro) and Isco from Malaga for lennon on the right will allow that. They will allow us to dictate the play a bit more and probe for openings. Isco is a bit like Silva and Mata. He is only 20years old and doesnt rely on pace to beat a man but more on skill..and he can pick a pass as well. Willian is a good player but I feel Isco is better and would come cheaper.
Anyway, this week could determine how our season turns out depending on the quality of our signings. I do hope AVB gets it right or else we could be for one long and painful season..

None taken- but believe it or not, there are many young players who aren't ignorant enough to assume that anything less than playing in the CL right now this minute, isnt worth getting out of bed for. Being signed by a top 4 Premiership team that doesnt have billions stashed away isnt lowering standards or showing a lack of ambition ffs.
