First off, i have to say fair play to Brendan Rodgers.
I didn't believe the rumours of yesterday's team because how many managers have the nuts to play a 17 year old before an England international and a 21 year old at center half before a player who is currently vice captain and represented our club over 700 times ?
Rodgers said reputations mean nothing and he has been true to his word, you have to earn the right to play in this new look Liverpool.
Yesterday we fielded Kelly, Coates, Shelvey, Allen, Borini who are all 22/21 with Sterling just 17.
I think this is a massive blessing to those playing in our under 21 side, there are some decent lads in that team with the likes of Sama and Suso being the most obvious. It's encouraging for them to know they will get chances.
It's about time we started giving some youngsters a chance before they get moved on (i.e Tom Ince), if they show enough promise that is.
Of course we need a few more players, we are realists, but i think the foundation is certainly there to bring more and more players through from the academy in the years to come.
I'm not trying to jump the gun here or anything but in three or four seasons time when financial fair play takes effect, Fergie retires, City and Chelsea struggle to pay the high premiums and Liverpools youngsters develop i think we could see a nice successful period return to Anfield.
I'm very optimistic about our future

I'm extremely confident with Brendan at the helm.
His attitude is spot on and he wants that same determination from the players.

Agreed, whats the point in having an Academy if you never find out one way or another if the players are good enough to make the step up?
I thought it might be a bit too early for Raheem a few weeks back and if anything Suso looked closer to getting a chance, but Raheem has obviously show something extra that BR liked.
Young Raheem was excellent yesterday though and his work ethic was a joy to behold.

I agree. The future looks bright indeed, starting with Suso. I heart for that guy and I think that we should start giving him some games, league cup per se.
Raheem was brilliant yesterday. I will like to see him follow this performance on consistent basis.

We have a young squad in place and given the time to grow together, it will only benefit us.
Im just dissapointed that Segura has left

On that topic, is Suso playing for the U21's today?

Teams should be judged after 10-15 games
Liverpool scored from a corner and a free-kick
Wasn't like Joe Hart was making saves after saves

It just all feels right; sometimes you just get a period in time when it all just aligns and it feels RIGHT. I believe this time is now for LFC, its strange but 3 poor years and all the comings and goings have led us to where we are now; bizarre but we have H&G to thank.

We could've easily scored more if we passed the right ball after winning it high up the pitch.
