The current warm up match is blessing in disguise for the Indians. They are know as slow starters. This match will increase their intensity and determination come Lords.

It's a jinx only if you say it is a jinx. India won the first Test of their series against NZ. They didn't have any practice matches.
They won the first Test of the series against WI in 2011- they didn't have any practice matches then either.
They won the first Test of the series against SA in 2006- they didn't have any practice matches then as well.
They almost won the first Test of the series against WI in 2006 (India had 17 balls to take the last wicket but couldn't). Once again- no practice matches.
Likewise, there are many instances of India winning or drawing the first Test of a series most creditably so there really was no jinx.
It's all just media propaganda to sell some stories.
