It's only the Guardian but if this is true this is a massive blow to our hopes for the season
Let's just hope its wrong and we receive better news tomorrow

The Daily Telegraph claim that Liverpool fear that Lucas will be out for several weeks due to a thigh strain. The Telegraph is usually the best when it comes to football. On the other hand what the DT says was just at the end of a article about Sterling whereas the Guardian devoted an entire article to Lucas which unfortunatly probably means that they have the better info. Still even the good papers are not always precise and I just hope that this is one of those occasions.

If he is out then its not as bad as last season,we could have this:
-------------------Allen---------------
--------Gerrard---------Sahin-----
So much better than this:
--------------Spearing-----------
------Gerrard-------Adam------
As i said, we have top quality cover now; should be ok

I though we were not unduly worried when Lucas went off. Shelvey came on and did well. I wonder if a DM is as important as it used to be to Liverpool?

Scan result comes out tomorrow so whatever they're reporting now is just speculation.
Daily Fail yesterday reported his knee injury reoccurred and the season could be over for him bla bla bla..

its not so bad now we've seen how well joe allen played the holding role yesterday and also sahin is an excellent holding player.

It probably means we won't sell Spearing now

Spearing should still go, as pointed out above we have much better cover for Lucas this year with Allen and Sahin able to play there with Lucas out we still have
Allen
Sahin
Jonjo
Hendo
Gerrard
Adam
Not worried about this as much as I would have been last year, but of course its still a blow and get well soon Lucas.

I may be in a minority here but this could be a blessing in disguise and give us more penetration. Allen will drop back and we'll have Gerrard and Sahin in front of him.
