We saw Nunez had talent last season while he was on loan but all of a sudden with no players being signed Grayson is talking him up big style.
If he thought he was so good why did we get Livermore and Bannan on loan and not play Nunez? He would clearly have done a better job.
Also, if Brown is the missing link as Grayson says, why did he not sign a defensive midfielder earlier? All the fans knew we needed one.
What on earth is going on at Elland Road?
Nunez

Walsall..You've played in a team where a player looks good to the amatuer on the sidelines but everyone connected to the team knows he's throwing a spanner in the works. Duncan Mac was a fine example!

Walsall ..No! I didn't see the game and even if I had I couldn't know SGs instructions to the team which is why I say fans should temper their criticism of the management and the players. If things go wrong you often can't know which player is at fault and if the system isn't working you often can't tell whether it's the opposition that have overcome it or one of the players isn't doing the job he was asked to do!

He looked lightweight to me but whatever, bannan wasn't doing the job that SG wanted him to so he wasn't selected. A manager tells you what you need to do and if you don't do it he'll give someone else a chance.

Sg has made some odd signings both on loan and permanents. I dont understand most of them to be honest. If livermore and bannan didn't show enough in training or didn't listen or heed the managers instructions then why keep them? Why sign players and play them out of position?
The best player in training last year for effort and his relentless goal scoring was mccormack. That fact has come directly from another player training with him. So why give paynter so many games and so few to the other strikers? No logic or sense of direction.

You've got to think he wouldn't be at Spurs on £20k a week if he wasn't a good player but, for whatever reason, he didn't contribute much on the occasions I saw him.
It will be interesting to see how he develops but what did Gradel look like to Leicester, they couldn't have rated him that highly and yet 15 months later they are talking about him being worth £2/3m.
This proves how difficult it is and, as I've said on many occasions, it is not an exact science and, even for guys with the proven track record of Rednose, there is a big slice of suck it and see involved.
