Lampard's time is up!!

I reckon lampard's time as an automatic first team starter is up....while his experience will prove valuable from the subs bench i think his time as a regular first team starter is up.

1.*Agree
2.*Disagree and why??

It could be, but I will reserve judgement till the season starts. I still think he will start in around 25 PL games this season.

He doesn't have that extra bit of sharpness and speed he had a few seasons ago and doesn't have enough skill to cover for its loss. I feel he should start about 15 PL games and come on from the bench for another 10 PL games. He'll be a lot sharper and offer us much more.

I've said this numerous times before, but we should be looking to use Lamps much as United have done with Scholes and Giggs, and use them as experienced squad players and an example to the up and coming young players

He can't expect to continue to be the first name on the team sheet and play the full 90 minutes every week, but should not be phased out completely either

Shame he's on 180k per week for another 3 years then !!

Likewise Rooney, still at least blackmailing his own club allowed him to buy a new barnet!

Compltely agree, andI think using him as a squad player would a) prolong his career and b) maybe see him imporve his performances. Scholes and Giggs shown that if used carefully and sparingly they can still be valuable members to the squad. If Lampard wasn't forced to start every game then maybe we'd see more drive than before as well asthe fatigue that he have suffered from playing each game will go.

The thing about Lampard is, he was always the kind of player who needed a run of games to show his best form. So using him from the bench/sparingly is just never going to work.

Depends on what AVB has seen I guess

He'll know what he can get out of him & the best way to do it
I say you start him every match & introduce Josh as often as possible to replace - the old two birds one stone scenario..
