It is a lot of money but personally I'm ok with it as long as part of it is dependent on goals scored/games played. If he's a flop we haven't lost much, if he's good then we've got our money's worth.

Bergkamp probably did technically with European matches for Ajax and Inter and internationals played in England.

Different competitions though rather than league football...
Some would argue Internationals aren't as important as league football, you know Fergie, Giggs etc
