It seems we are close to signing this player. I'll admit I haven't seen much of him, but from what I have he seems pretty average. Gives away too many fouls, like song used to. But he is disciplined, which is what we need.
What do Newcastle fans think of him?
Also we're linked with Essien. Was quality in his prime, seems to have lost it a bit, but he wouldn't be a bad buy, if it's on loan. He's quite experienced and can still be a good option to have.

The positive from this kind of signing would be that it would allow Arteta/Wilshere to drive forward with the ball more often as we'd have a designated holding mid.
The signing of said player doesn't really excite me though tbh.

Yeah I know buddy, just looked funny so close together in the paragraph! I'll be happy with him to be honest. I'm not sure whether he'll be in the 1st XI for all the games but could see him being used against the big teams to provide some extra cover to the back-four. Is this definitely happening or have we just gotten a bit past the rumour stage?
