With what is going on at the KP. Players quite clearing falling out, players looking like they don't want to be here and NP sounding and looking like a desparate man.
The objective for this season was promotion, top 6 at least. I just don't think we have a cats chance in hell of top 6 unless a couple of new players come into the club. We have a threadbare squad, a good 13 or 14 core players and that is it - on the day the best 11 could probably match anyone but how often over a season will they all be fit and able.
If Beckford leaves then it leaves us with Nugent, Vardy who is in his first season in the championship, Fructas in his 2nd and a Waghorn who looks out of sorts along with a raw Schlupp - hardly threatening.
If you look at Forest, Blackburn, Cardiff and Hull they have all signed match winners, players who can turn a game over the last few days, what have we done?
NP has quite clearly had to balance the books, which we may thank him for one day but the owners must also shoulder some blame for spending like a kid in a sweet shop. This week has seen NP under some pressure and I am not sure he can handle it as is necessary - his dour approach lacks inspiration and for the 1st time he is doing my brain in. As in any leader you have to inspire, not the other way!
Just a bit demoralised!

I personally feel at my lowest ebb since we were relegated to Division 1.
This is not about capitulating to Burton Albion but about not having cover in defence, possibly loaning out a quality striker to a Championship rival, blind faith in players like Waghorn and Dyer and not bringing in enough experience to mount a challenge this year.
The Blackburn performance gave me some hope but over-all, there are more things that are wrong than right.
Top six looks a pipe-dream at the moment. Bottom six looks a real concern.

Sorry AJB1 - I must have missed all those players saying there were issues at the club.
All I've seen are comments about them moaning because they're not playing.
Have I missed something, or are you interpreting "I'm not happy that I'm not playing" as "there are deep rooted issues at the club"?
You might be right, but I've not seen anything myself that suggests that at all!

Don't be ridiculous. I agree there are some issues, I think our squad is lacking in some areas, and I think it would be a mistake to let Beckford go at this point.
The last 3 results have been poor but after the Blackburn game pretty much every fan who went to the game was positive about the rest of the season.
The argument about whether we're top 6 material will rage on. But bottom 6? come off it.

Soory boys, i cant be believe im hearing this moaning!! match winners you say? Marshall, Kingy, Nugent, Knocky (will be) Morgan & Fuctas (heading ability) in our side......
lets not get to carried away with a poor performance in a crappy cup blur our view and team. Beckford will never hit 20 goals for any team in this division let alone ours.
Cheer up and bring your voice saturday and show our boys we are behind them.....

You are (of course) right Emilio. We shouldn't be bottom six but I can't personally see beyond 9th or 10th, which means no progress for three seasons, despite the money spent.
I'm just fuming about this Beckford rumuor and I am annoyed about the lack of support he gets from sections of our fan base.

I admire your optimism Culle, but I think you may be getting a little carried away listing Futacs as a potential match winner. Quite apart from anything else, according to all the reports I've seen his heading was absolutely guff against Burton...

To be honest prawn I've never witnessed a great deal of negativity towards Beckford and he certainly has never got the kind of reception that has occasionally greeted Paul Gallagher. Mostly the crowd has supported him and encouraged him to do well.
I'm not the greatest Beckford fan, but I'd still have him ahead of Waghorn, Schlupp and Futacs. So what annoys me about this rumour is that, without anyone coming in, our squad looks to be weaker without him.
Getting rid of him to release funds to improve the squad is one thing. Loaning him to a rival club without a replacement seems odd.
